The Capital Region Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced its 2006 Emmy award nominations this evening, and Kitay Productions is pleased to announce that it garnered a nomination for its only entry.
Kitay Productions is being recognized for its work in producing a live television broadcast of the Middle Tennessee vs. Maryland college football game held on September 9, 2006. The Kitay-produced show aired on Comcast SportsNet. Seven entries were submitted in the "Sporting Event/Game ? Live/Unedited" category, and the Kitay show was one of only three to be nominated as a finalist.
Emmy winners will be announced at a live, black-tie ceremony to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, June 16, 2007.
"This the highest honor we can receive for our work, and we are just thrilled by the news," said company president Joel Kitay. "To be recognized by our peers for our hard work and creativity means a lot to the entire company."
While founder Joel Kitay has personally won 4 Emmy awards in his career, this marks the first time that Kitay Productions as a company has entered the Emmy competition, and the first time it has been nominated. Joining Kitay on the entry is production manager Gabe Unterman.
